Vivian Ammerlaan
Vivian Ammerlaan lives and works in Rotterdam. Through moments of stillness and careful observation, she captures the subtle imprints of time, memory, and connection. Her work is available in limited editions and is part of several private collections.
Her practice explores the connections between people, places, and the passage of time. Much of her work revolves around relationships; the ways in which lovers, friends, and family shape one another, and how these invisible bonds take form through years and memory.
In her more recent projects, her gaze shifts outward, toward the landscape as a mirror of inner experience. Through subtle and poetic observations, she reflects on stillness, transformation, and belonging.
Photography, to her, is a way to hold on — to make time visible and memory tangible. She invites the viewer to linger, to look closely, and to find beauty in the quiet connection between people and their surroundings.
