Heemtuin 44°53'39.7"N 13°50'11.7"E originates from my ongoing project Heemtuin, which explores the human physical, emotional, and inspirational connection with nature. This is expressed through images where the human figure is absent, yet present in what humans add or shape in their surroundings. Through the title, the project also reflects on the concept of ‘home’—both for the individual and in relation to the global ecosystem, upon which all humans depend to have a home. Nature thus becomes a metaphor for, and a mirror of, the underlying human condition.
