Sun-day was made 350 km above the Arctic Circle in Tromsø, Norway, on the first day the sun reappears over the horizon after three months of perpetual darkness. It captures the subtle shift when winter loosens its grip and the idea of summer returns. Snow still blankets the ground, but the light changes: softer air, warmer colour temperature, a pastel glow that feels almost out of season. The photograph marks that fragile moment when people in the Arctic allow themselves to look ahead again, when the sun is less a distant memory and more a quiet promise—the first awakening of summer to come.
