Mission
Ballon Rouge Foundation aims to create a creative and inspiring space for photographers, artists, and makers in Rotterdam. The foundation supports artistic practice, experimentation, and dialogue, building a vibrant community while promoting projects and activities that contribute to the cultural life of the city.
The Foundation’s activities are separate from the commercial activities of Ballon Rouge Gallery. The Foundation focuses on its cultural and talent-supporting programmes, while the gallery operates independently as a commercial gallery.

Financial Accountability
Ballon Rouge Foundation was established on 29 December 2022. Its activities are funded through donations, sponsorships, subsidies, and grants.
Ballon Rouge Friends
Ballon Rouge Friends supports the Foundation’s cultural and talent-supporting activities. Contributions from Friends are used to support emerging photographers and artists through the Foundation’s talent programme and related artistic activities. Friends contributions do not fund the commercial activities of Ballon Rouge Gallery.
Commercial Gallery
Ballon Rouge Gallery is operated as a sole proprietorship by Marlike Marks. The gallery is a commercial entity and operates separately from Ballon Rouge Foundation.
All commercial activities, including the sale of artworks, rentals, and related transactions, are handled exclusively by the gallery. The Foundation does not conduct commercial sales or receive income from the sale of artworks through the gallery.
