Do You Eat When You’re Not Hungry? unfolds as a visual journey through the asexual spectrum. Within this spectrum, Xandrine Koller identifies as demisexual — an orientation in which sexual attraction emerges only after a deep emotional bond is formed. With this publication, she seeks to foster understanding and open space for dialogue around a subject that is still rarely spoken about.

Through metaphors, texts, conversations with others on the asexual spectrum, self-portraits, and still lifes, Xandrine Koller guides the viewer through layered experiences of asexuality. Feelings of loneliness and insecurity appear alongside moments of recognition, freedom, and self-acceptance. In doing so, the work underscores the importance of visibility — both for the artist herself and for those who recognise parts of their own experience within it.
