In October 2023, I came across an unusual half-frame snapshot camera for 35mm film. I was looking for a simple camera to carry with me at all times to capture everyday observations. It was an instant match. While working with the negatives, I was confronted with the fact that both my film scanner and the darkroom enlarger use a standard mask for full frame. As a result, two images always appeared together, naturally forming diptychs. The paired frames reveal the edit made in-camera and carry a cinematographic quality, revealing sequence, narrative and chance as you move from one scene to the next.
