In the series Lapidarium II (2019–2026), I take a step back from my politically and historically driven projects. Lapidarium is a collection of visual encounters abroad, closely tied to my everyday life during these travels.
The photographs celebrate the poetic and the visual as they unfold in fleeting moments in front of me.
This image was taken in Mardin, in southeastern Turkey, during the summer of 2023.
