In a society where difficult experiences are often left unspoken, Mirjam Koch-Rose is drawn to what is carried quietly within the body and mind. Her practice asks how personal and collective histories can be made visible, not through documentation alone, but through intimate, poetic photography that gives voice to what is otherwise hidden.
The ongoing series Let Them Talk / Mek den Taki consists of works that blend careful observation with vulnerability and presence. Mirjam Koch-Rose’s images emerge from a deep engagement with her own story as the oldest daughter in an immigrant family, navigating the weight of expectations, cultural norms, and unresolved experiences. By tracing these patterns, she seeks understanding, transformation, and a path toward healing. The photographs do not simply capture reality; they construct moments where memory, identity, and resilience intersect, allowing the invisible to quietly emerge.
Through this body of work, Mirjam Koch-Rose invites viewers to witness and reflect, to confront silence, and to consider the ways in which personal and collective histories shape who we are. Mek’ den taki / Let them talk offers a space where difficult truths can be faced, and where the act of seeing becomes an acknowledgment of what has long been hidden.
